The night before the Election was full of a level of excitement and optimism that seems foreign today. Many of us are still reeling from the results of the General Election last week. Amidst the despair that so many are feeling right now, it is very important to not lose sight of the fact that we had a successful night at the local level.
Chuck Schemer and Louise Slaughter will be going back to Congress to represent us and along with Kirsten Gellibrand, I don’t know that there is a better trio of representatives anywhere in the nation.
While he may have been unopposed, Assembly Majority Leader Morelle is going back to Albany to continue to Fight for Brighton.
Adam Bello’s election as County Clerk was a huge step forward for Monroe County. Adam has shown tremendous integrity since he was appointed and has raised the bar for all County officials.
Brighton’s own John Falk will be back on the bench in Town Court and continuing to bring a fair and impartial approach to individuals standing in his courtroom.
Not all of our candidates won their races, but working together, we helped deliver Brighton to every single one of them, and that is something else that you can be proud of.
Hillary Clinton / Tim Kaine
As I said in my email to the Committee last week, you all had a very busy year, but now it is time to start getting ready for Election Day 2017. Our next meeting is this Monday night in the Multi-Purpose Room at Brookside at 7pm and I hope you will be able to attend.
