Rochester March for Science

  • Martin Luther King Jr Park at Manhattan Square 353 Court Street Rochester, NY, 14607 United States (map)

The Rochester NY March for Science and Science Expo will take place on April 22, 2017. The March and Expo are non-partisan efforts comprised of independent events put together by unaffiliated volunteer organizers in over 300 cities worldwide. In Rochester, our march will begin with a Rally for Science at MLK Park and end with a Science Expo at the Hyatt Regency. All events are free and open to the public.

The Rochester NY March for Science champions robustly funded and publicly communicated science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for science that upholds the common good, and for political leaders and policymakers to enact responsible evidence-based policies in the public interest.

The goals for our events are to humanize science, engage the public, and defend science. We strive to demonstrate the many ways that science is practiced by and for us all. We endeavor to engage with the public in an open dialogue about the value and potential of science. We seek to affirm science as a vital component of a free society, spurring innovation, critical thinking, increased understanding, and better, healthier lives for all people. We hold our leaders--both in science and in politics--accountable to the highest standards of honesty, fairness, and integrity.
